How Can We Help?

Find answers to common questions about Goldbacks, GoldATM machines, and your purchases.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a Goldback?

A Goldback is a voluntary currency made from a thin sheet of .9999 fine 24-karat gold sandwiched between layers of protective polymer. Each note contains a precise, verified amount of gold and is designed for everyday transactions.

  • How do I use a GoldATM machine?

Simply walk up to any GoldATM, insert cash ($1–$100 bills accepted), and the machine dispenses Goldbacks. No account, app, or sign-up required. The entire process takes under 60 seconds.

  • What denominations are available?

Goldbacks come in denominations of ½, 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100. A single Goldback (1 denomination) contains 1/1000th of a troy ounce of gold. Denomination availability at each ATM may vary.

  • Are Goldbacks legal?

Yes. Goldbacks are fully legal to own, trade, and use. They hold legal recognition for voluntary circulation in several states including Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, New Hampshire, South Dakota, and Florida. Over 3,000 merchants accept them.

  • How is the price determined?

Goldback pricing is based on the current spot price of gold plus a small premium that covers manufacturing, distribution, and the unique security features of each note. Prices at GoldATM machines update regularly to reflect market conditions.

  • Can I sell or trade my Goldbacks?

Absolutely. Goldbacks can be sold to dealers, traded peer-to-peer, or spent at participating merchants. Because they contain real gold, they always have intrinsic value tied to the gold market.

  • What if the machine doesn't work?

If you experience an issue with a GoldATM machine, please contact our support team with the machine location and a description of the problem. We monitor all machines remotely and will resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
